So sorry that I haven’t posted in a while, I’ve been quite busy BEING ENGAGED! My boyfriend proposed two weeks ago on a lovely date day to Stratford Ontario. We were in town to see their Santa Claus Parade, but apparently Shaun had another plan in mind.
We spent the day exploring the town. Stratford is a beautiful little town full of unique shops and cafes. We walked through the shops (there’s a wonderful Scottish shop that I always make sure to pop in) and played some rummy while enjoying a cappuccino at Balzac’s.
Just before the parade Shaun suggested that we walk around the lake. He brought me onto the little island, and told me to close my eyes. I kinda knew what was happening, and sure enough when I opened them, he was on one knee.
We are so incredibly happy and excited for what is to come!
Here is a closer look at the ring. The center stone is a blue zircon, and the others are alternating blue and white diamonds. I’ve probably taken over 100 photos of this beauty already, it’s stunning! I find myself getting distracted quite often and just staring at the ring.
The very interesting thing about this ring, is that the colour changes drastically depending on the lighting. It direct light it’s a very light blue (as you can see in the first picture), however it is usually an aqua blue (second picture). Sometimes in a darker light the ring appears a teal colour (last picture).
So that’s my exciting news! I’m planning on doing as much as possible myself for this wedding, so get ready for lots of diy wedding posts in the coming year. I already have ideas for invitations, favours, and decorations; this is sure to be lots of fun!
